Weighing in

We had a bbq with some friends on Saturday, and Marc and Natalie came with baby Madeleine who is 8 days older than Nicole. Let me just say that my baby is a lot bigger than theirs! I had Nicole weighed today since she is now 4 weeks old, and she's a whopping 10 lbs 8.5 oz! She's a little chunk, but oh so cute!

Happy Birthday Alex!

Nicole enjoyed the day with her dad! They took a nap together, watched the Euro 2008 soccer final, ate some cake, and played some x-box. What a day!

Nana's Visit

I was lucky enough to have my mom come visit for a week a few days after Nicole was born. It was SO nice to have her there to take the baby in the middle of the night so that Alex and I could get some sleep, and to watch the baby while I took a shower. Another great thing about having her visit was that she got me out of the house! Our first outing was to Sam's Club (exciting, huh?). We also hit Target, where my mom spoiled Nicole with lots of fun things. But the biggest outings were when we went to Princeton and Brandywine Valley. It was nice to be out and about - Nicole had tons of fun with her Nana and can't wait to see her again in July!

Baby Nicole

OK, I'm back. We've been busy adjusting to this new life with a baby and I realized I needed to show off my beautiful girl! We had her 1 week doctor appointment today, and she's already back to her birth weight of 7 lb 10 oz (she lost 7 oz by the time we left the hospital). The doctor said they usually give babies 2 weeks to get back to birth weight, but my little chunk of a baby is an overachiever! Here she is!

Nicole Emiko Robertson

She's here! Our sweet baby girl was born June 2, 2008 at 11:14 am. She weighed in at 7 lbs 10 oz, and was 21 inches long. She has long, thick, black hair and very Japanese looking eyes, and we think she's beautiful! Here's a picture from Alex's phone right after she was born - we'll add more later!

Memoirs of being 35 weeks pregnant

On Wednesday we became official homeowners (yay!). We had never met our mortgage broker before closing, and when she walked into the meeting she said, "You look like you're going to pop!"

Later that day we ventured out to Home Depot to get some supplies to start working on our home. When we were checking out, this lady asked me, "Are you having twins?"

Last night I was at the grocery store and I turned a corner and heard this lady say, "Whoa." She was looking straight at my belly.

Sigh. :)

Happy 'Versary to us!

Alex and I celebrated 6 years together on Saturday. 6 years! It's hard to believe we've been married for that long, yet at the same time it seems like such a short amount of time. Here are some highlights from the past six years:

- Buying our first car together (this is big in my mind because it was my dream car!)
- Traveling the world together (ok, so we've only done the Bahamas and Western Europe - but eventually we'll make it everywhere else!)
- Getting our MBAs together at the U of U
- Moving to Philly
- Buying a house
- Getting pregnant

Since it was our last anniversary without kids, I surprised Alex with a trip to Cape May, NJ. Cape May is this cute Victorian town on the Southern tip of NJ, surrounded by the Delaware Bay. The architecture there is beautiful, and it's got a nice small town feel. It was such a relaxing weekend, with lounging around on the beach, enjoying good food, reminiscing about the past, and talking about what the future holds for us. Here are some pics from our weekend:
