Joel is 2 months!

I realize I've been slacking on the photos of Joel. Not because I haven't been taking them. I just can't get any pictures that capture "Joel." But here he is, in all of his cute mop-top glory!

Joel's blessing

We were lucky to have a house full of family last week. My parents and Alex's dad flew in for a few days, and Beth came down from New York for a couple of days. Joel's blessing was on February 6. Alex did a great job, and I hear Joel was an angel during the blessing. He was awake and just looking up at everyone in the circle.

Nicole was in heaven having so many grandparents around to play with her. Nicole and Nana made valentine's one day, and Nicole couldn't wait to give them to everyone.

Nicole drew this picture of Jessie from Toy Story. I think it's just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. It's the first picture she has drawn that actually looks like something. Click on it to zoom in and see the details. It's pretty awesome.

Christmas pictures

This was the closest we got to "family" pictures for Christmas. Joel was drowning in his outfit, but I think he looks pretty handsome. Nicole was in love with her dress and cried for a good half hour when we made her take it off. Poor girl.

Merry Christmas!

We had such a great time celebrating the holiday in our own home this year. We were able to start some family traditions, and it was such a relaxing holiday. Nicole was so excited for Santa to come and I think she thought Christmas day was just about the most perfect day ever. And to top it off we had a sweet baby boy here with us.

Christmas Eve. We built a fire, drank hot cocoa, read 'The Night Before Christmas,' and the story of Jesus' birth, sang some Christmas songs, and opened pjs.
